VED Mobil – Exchange on digitalisation and diversity in European vocational education and training
The digital revolution is affecting almost all areas of business and life. Innovative technologies, systems and processes, increasing cross-industry networking and increased globalisation are leading to fundamental changes in operational work processes. This also changes the competence requirements for tomorrow’s skilled labour. The employment biography is determined by continuous adaptations to technological innovations and social changes.
At the same time, trainees are increasingly showing differences, e.g. in their previous education, starting age, language skills. On the one hand, this is causing difficulties, but on the other hand it can also bring enrichment if the growing heterogeneity is skillfully and purposefully managed. There is a need to strengthen the skills of VET professionals both at the technical and didactic level in order to be able to react competently to these developments and thus provide a basis for successful training.
With VED Mobil is the BGZ continuing its series of projects for international exchange for VET professionals from Berlin. 60 participants from Berlin will exchange ideas with their Danish, French, Italian and Polish colleagues on how to deal with technological innovations and digitalisation as well as with heterogeneous learning groups in vocational education and training.
They get to know solutions from other EU countries for the modern design of teaching/learning processes, visit vocational schools and companies. In this way, they expand their knowledge and skills in integrating technological and social change into curricula and teaching practice as well as into didactic concepts. The exchange also strengthens the international networking of the participants – EU-wide cooperation is initiated or continued.
