AURA –
Auralisation of acoustic heritage sites using Augmented and Virtual Reality
Do you hear what I hear?
With the project AURA, we will explore the potentials of auralisation – a technique creating virtual soundscapes in 3D models to artificially making acoustic situations audible.
Three use cases – „Auralisation and Artistic Performance“, „Auralisation and Audience Experience“ and „Auralisation and New Knowledge for the Culture Industry“ will explore auralisation experiences with 3D-models of the music venues that mirror the sound of the real music venue in a virtual environment and discover how architecture influences sound.
- Auralised 3D models of three music venues, a technical description of the 3D modelling of the three venues and a documentation of the approach, analytical results and recommendations
- Three video tutorials – for music experts, for technicians and architects, for the general public
- Supporting tools for business opportunities related to auralisation, marketing strategies and approach
- White Paper on auralisation
AURA will reach out to the European music community with its results, providing a model for cross-sectoral collaboration to foster creativity, to promote European heritage in new ways and to demonstrate European excellence in the world of music.
“AURA will create virtual soundscapes for an acoustic experience that perfectly matches up with its analogue counterpart. An exciting and urgently needed development. As Senator for European affairs, I am very pleased that with this project Berlin is actively engaging with cultural networks throughout Europe.”
