ALI – Apprentices Learn Internationally

ALI was a mobility project for young Berlin apprentices in the commerce and technical fields. The partner country was Turkey, a country which the BGZ has been cooperating with for almost 30 years.

The aim of the project was to increase the occupational mobility of young people and to improve their professional and social skills. 13 trainees and an instructor participated in a three-week internship in Izmir.

The internship included a preparatory and implementation phase and an evaluation. The BGZ took over the project management in Germany, including the arrangement of insurance and health protection. MEKSA was responsible for the management and organization in Turkey.

The trainees from Berlin gained personal and professional experiences, which had a positive impact on their motivation to learn. For the German part, the cooperation with the MEKSA training centre in Izmir was strengthened. This centre was also our cooperation partner in the implementation of BGZ’s pilot project TRIALOG. The host organisations in Turkey also benefited from the project, through exchanging experiences and gaining new cooperation partners in Germany. The project made an important contribution to strengthen occupational mobility.
