3 F for Future

Photography, Butchery and Hairdressing
in cooperation with Poland

There are two important questions for the skilled trade in Berlin: Given the threatening shortage of skilled labour, how is it possible to make trade as an occupational field more attractive? How can the mutual acknowledgement of training qualifications and the realization of EQR in the border regions make progress? The project “3 F for Future”, coordinated by the BGZ, dealt with these issues. Professionals in vocational education and skilled trade training met for three one-week transnational experience exchanges (Flows) in Poznan, Wroclaw and Warsaw. They discussed topics such as the implementation of the EQR in border regions, European trends in vocational education, know-how transfers in vocational education practice and concepts for reforms and comparability.

The guilds of the Berlin Chamber of Small Business and Skilled Crafts have made the results available as Good Practice for other trades. Furthermore, there were approaches for further cooperation, such as internships for trainees. The project strengthened the partnership between Berlin and Warsaw, and the cooperation in the Oder region.

“I think it is very good that concrete agreements were reached in the field of vocational and further training of photographers as a result of the exchange of ideas and experience with our Warsaw colleagues. This exchange should be intensified, not only for business owners but also for trainees and pupils of both countries, through reciprocal visits and consequent workshops, seminars, projects and exhibitions.”
