Development cooperation and global learning
The main reason the BGZ was founded was to implement the State of Berlin’s development-policy cooperation with Turkey. Development cooperation is our basic raison d’être. We stand for cooperative partnership and are committed to the Agenda 21 and to the State of Berlin’s development policy guidelines.
Together with the State Office for Development Cooperation and Berlin NGOs, we are contributing to the establishment of global learning in educational practice and the implementation of the UNESCO’s Global Action Programme on Education for Sustainable Development. Our pilot projects on energy-efficient building, development education, and on fair trade have already been granted several awards.
