Berlin Mobil – European exchange of experiences in civil protection
Although immigrants represent a large part of the population in Berlin, up to now they have been underrepresented in aid organisations. They are often not familiar with the specific opportunities to participate in voluntary work, and are not aware of the educational opportunities. Berlin Mobil adds to the BGZ project PROTECT – Volunteering and Learning.
“PROTECT – Volunteering and Learning” paves the way to civil protection institutions for immigrants and introduces them to their educational opportunities. Nine partners from 4 EU countries are developing concepts and adapting their educational opportunities to the needs of the target group. Cooperation with the ambassadors and mentors has been particularly successful. Further information can be found at: www.bgz-protect.eu
- How do the aid organisations have to change to become more appealing to young people and particularly to immigrants?
- How can the appeal of professions in the emergency services be increased?
- How can one increase the compatibility of professions in the emergency services within the EU?
The partners, which we will work together in Berlin Mobil with, are the same as those in PROTECT. In this way, the sustainability of the results will be strengthened.
