ARRIVED – Coaching for refugees in vocational training in Berlin

From 01.03.2018 the BGZ will take over the technical coordination for all Berlin ARRIVO projects. The ARRIVO sub-project “ARRIVED – Coaching for refugees in vocational training in Berlin” will be continued by the Berlin Chamber of Small Business and Skilled Crafts.

Under the new name „ARRIVED – Coaching for refugees in vocational training in Berlin“ the BGZ continues its successful project „ARRIVED – welcome to the skilled crafts“ by extending it to other branches as well.

Our project is now funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Integration, Employment and Social Affairs and part of the umbrella brand ARRIVO, which further increases the co-operations between the various services offered by the different partial projects of ARRIVO.

ARRIVED focuses on supporting both apprentices and companies during the period of a vocational training. Through the individual assessment of demands and tailor-made services for both refugees and companies, the project ensures that a vocational training is completed successfully and early dropouts are prevented.

To reach this goal, the project places its efforts into an intensive and close support during the vocational training and offers the following services:

• preparatory and accompanying German and mathematics classes,
• Seminars for the introduction to the professional life,
• Support with the search for accommodation and visits to the authorities,
• Coaching for both trainees and companies,
• Support of the social integration by personal mentors
